STOP THE ROTATING DOOR
In the past few years there has been a noticeable increase of crime in Las Cruces. The New Mexico bail reform coupled with far too lenient judges allows criminals to be back on the street before law enforcement can complete their booking paperwork. Those that break the law need to be held responsible for their actions.
If the reason for their criminal activity is mental health issues or drug abuse, they need to be enrolled in programs to assist them in dealing with these things rather than just being released back on the street placing them and the community at risk.
